Bill Love reviews the new Halo and Sprocket graphic novel, Natural Creatures, in his Novel Ideas column at Comic Related.
He calls it "one of the most original ideas in comics. In stories of
only a few pages each you will laugh repeatedly and still take away
some universal truth to ponder over. This is the type of book you will
want to shove into the hands of everyone you know just to share the
laugh."
"Mr. V" at Atlantis Comics (not to be confused with Atlantis Fantasyworld in Santa Cruz, California) also reviews Natural Creatures.
"Callen's ability to point out the mundanity and absurdity of everyday
life through his characters, in a format accessable to young and old
alike, is continually heart-warming, thought provoking, and hilarious."
Kerry Callen's Halo and Sprocket: Natural Creatures is available now, both at the SLG website
and in stores. It's about an angel and robot who live with an
attractive young woman and the misunderstandings and insight that
occurs. Oh, and a giant spider, a retro board game, a picnic, and some
"cat puns" that Mr. V thought were terrible but that cracked me up. |
