Review of The Super-Scary Monster Show >

Previews has an interview with Jamie Smart with his upcoming color collection of comic strips, Space Raoul, which originally appeared in the Sunday Times comics section and The Dandy
in Great Britain, a land on whose empire the sun never set. (Ooh, deft
move to avoid ending a sentence in a preposition! Take that,
Churchill!) Now the empire has moved out of the Earth -- because who
needs to be constrained when space is out there? -- and our
ruddy British adventurer is a lumpy fellow named Raoul and his green
companion, Quibble. And what's more, Space Raoul is an all-ages book,
something appropriate for the children who love the Bear and Looshkin
plushes but whom we cautiously steer from the comic from which those
characters come. Bear, which is full of hilarious swearing and violence.
Not only can you read this interview at the above link, but you can also download a PDF preview of Space Raoul and get its pre-order information. Hint: SPACE RAOUL GN VOL 01 (AUG083686) |
